✈️ Paper Planes

Videos and instructions on how to make planes

  1. Start with a rectangular piece of paper, held landscape
  2. Fold in half lengthwise, then unfold (just to make a crease)
  3. Fold the top two corners down to the center crease
  4. Fold those same edges in to the center again — making a sharper point
  5. Fold the whole plane in half along the center crease
  6. Fold each wing down flat — now it looks like a dart!

⭐ Eli Tip: Throw it HARD and aim slightly up for the longest flight!

  1. Fold paper in half lengthwise, then unfold
  2. Fold the top corners down to the center crease
  3. Fold the tip ALL the way down to the bottom edge of the triangles
  4. Fold the top corners in again (they'll be smaller this time)
  5. Fold the small triangle at the bottom UP over the corners — this LOCKS the folds (the secret move!)
  6. Fold in half, then fold wings down

⭐ Eli Tip: This one held the world distance record. The lock is EVERYTHING!

  1. Fold in half lengthwise
  2. Fold the top two corners down to the center crease
  3. Fold the whole thing in half
  4. Fold the wings out wide and flat (not angled down like a dart — flat!)
  5. Add tiny upward flaps at the very tips of the wings

⭐ Eli Tip: Tiny upward flaps at the back make it loop! Try throwing it gently.

White Cross

Hold the cube with white on top. Find the four white edge pieces — each has white plus one other color. Match that other color to its center, then flip the edge up to the top. Do this for all four edges. Don't worry about corners yet!

White Corners

Find a corner piece with white on it. Get it to the bottom-right corner below where it needs to go. Repeat: Right → Down → Right-back → Down-back until the corner clicks into place. Do all four corners.

Middle Layer

Flip the cube over — yellow on top now! Find edge pieces with no yellow on them. Use the algorithm from the video to insert them left or right into the middle layer. This is the tricky part — the video really helps here!

Yellow Cross

Do this algorithm: F R U R' U' F' — you might need to do it 1, 2, or 3 times depending on what pattern you start with (dot, L-shape, or line). You're making a yellow cross on top.

Almost there! Use the Sune algorithm: R U R' U R U2 R' to orient the yellow corners. Then do the final permutation move to get everything in the right spot. Check the video for the exact last steps — you've got this!!
